Chattanooga Getaway

After battling six days of a yucky virus, ALL of us needed a time away. Our prior trip to Chattanooga had been cancelled because of my sickness, so we were anxiously awaiting this past weekend to spend some quality time together as a family.
We headed down Friday morning at a leisurely pace - no agenda really which I loved! Cade's first official road trip was a hit. . . he was a traveling pro :) The weather was perfect as we enjoyed the aquarium streams under a cool breeze and overcast skies.

After dinner, it was time to hit the pool and settle in with popcorn and a movie. Our hotel room overlooked the AT & T baseball field, but we unfortunately didn't get to see the much anticipated firework display - extra innings saw to that :(

Saturday morning, we ate breakfast in the hotel bistro and headed out for the day. We toured the Choo-Choo, strolled North Shore, and rode the carousel in Coolidge Park (wanted to play in the fountains there as well, but they were broken. Just another reason to make a trip back soon!).

We grabbed lunch on the road and headed to Granny and Grandpa's house in Dunlap, about 45 minutes from downtown. They had spent the morning canning loads of Granny's delicious garden goodies. . . Cole helped finish picking tomatoes, squash, beets, beans, okra, and cucumbers. Delish! We also loved seeing the new calf and five sweet kittens. New life everywhere!

While there, we loved meeting our great nephew, Jayce, for the first time. He is just six weeks younger than Cade and the cutest thing!

Grandpa with his grandson (Cade - 12 weeks) and great-grandson (Jayce - 7 weeks)

Loved my time away with all three of my boys - so thankful for these precious memories!
