Splashin' Around

Checked off another summer bucket list item as we headed to Ava's Splash Pad in Mt. Juliet.  It was a HOT afternoon and the cool water felt great.  It was a weekday, so the crowd was minimal and the boys loved running  walking around the fun splash area.  Such a fun park that we hope to visit again soon!

After splashing, we took a minute to explore the newly renovated playground.  It's SO fun...hoping to go back when the weather is cooler.

Family Date

With Michael's work schedule being crazy busy this summer (for which we are thankful!) our family date nights have been few and far between.  A few weekends ago, we set aside some time to spend together and had a ball.

I think they had the fastest kart on the track (good picking Dad!), BUT Cade covered his ears and kept telling Michael to slow down...ha!  So rare for our little mover and shaker.

Between races, Cole told Michael to stay put so he could ride in the fast car too.  LOVED every second of speeding around the track.

Face says it all :)

Downtown Diddy

After a morning of strawberry picking and park playing, we decided to make it a complete family day by heading with Michael downtown to his evening appointment.  The boys and I hung out in the lobby of a hip condo high rise while Daddy appraised upstairs and then it was time for FUN.  We took the boys to a favorite local dinner spot, the Old Spaghetti Factory.  Being a weeknight, it was not crowded and we had our pick of a favorite table.  You can't pass up the trolley car - boys LOVED it!

After dinner, we opted for putt-putt golf near our home.  It's a favorite of the boys and Cade even made a hole-in-one!  Fun family day indeed :)

Strawberry Picking Day Date

With the onset of lots of late April/early May rain, the local strawberry patches haven't produced their usual abundance.  We always pick in late May, but headed to a favorite spot a little earlier in the month to make sure that they had enough delicious berries to fill our fridge and freezer with strawberry goodness.
As in the past, I invited my iMom gals to come with us for a spring playdate, and it just so happened that Michael was able to take off work for the DAY and come with us too :)  Kyle also joined his crew, so it quickly became a friend and family date.  There were plenty of berries to choose from and we picked our baskets full.  Perfect!

Annnd no one is looking...fabulous!

A picnic at the park was a great way to end our morning together - happy picking!
