8 Months

Wow. . . this 8th month has been so full of fun and firsts for you sweet boy.

Christmas arrived and we couldn't wait for you to experience all the joy it brings! You cared less about opening your gifts - I think you were quite in shock about what to do! :)

Yay! You love your brother's beloved 'Spot' and received a mini version of your very own

Christmas Eve and Christmas Day were extra special celebrating for the first time as a family of four. You truly light up our lives precious one!

Bath time is still a favorite. When you hear me turn on the water, you crawl as fast as you can to the edge of the tub. Mommy's right behind. . . making sure you don't dive in headfirst!

You've begun pulling up everywhere on everything. Furniture, toys, plants, people - nothing escapes you!

I love watching your little personality develop. You are fearless, curious, active, and quick (VERY quick!). You love to laugh and have begun making faces/funny noises while you eat to make your brother laugh as well. I think we have a comedian on our hands! You are rarely content if contained in the playpen, crib, swing, or exersaucer. Thank goodness Cole likes to sit with you in the pack-n-play. . . he keeps you entertained while Mommy showers! You would rather drum on a book than read it, are drawn to anything that plays music, and love to watch BabyFaith while Mommy cleans.

My view most days :) Who needs Jillian Michaels when you can chase this little bum?

Playing with your big brother is a favorite. If he's close-by, you'll crawl over to see what he's doing (not always the best scenario if he's just built the perfect tower. . . just sayin').

Not to hurry winter along, but I can't wait for spring. We've had a few warmer days lately and you LOVE to be outdoors. We broke out Cole's car and you had a ball riding around. I think we could've done that for hours and you would've been perfectly content.

This shirt says it all. You've fallen numerous times and will rarely cry. You've already received a few forehead bruises and currently sport a bruised right eye from falling on a toy. Have I mentioned before how different you are from your brother?!

You've begun eating some table food and love it! As far as favorites go, you really don't have a preference. You enjoy all the fruits, vegetables, and don't mind if they are mixed. Puffs, Mum-Mums, and yogurt melts are your favorite snacks which you now feed yourself like a pro.

Did I mention you're curious? Watching Daddy floor some of our bonus room attic storage. You would've crawled right in with him if I'd let you!

A few more fun facts:

* Your fifth tooth popped through (top right) and the sixth is close behind.

* When being changed, you love to hold the clean diaper. You'll laugh and wave it around while kicking your legs. So cute, but makes for a difficult changing experience for mommy :)

* You've just about outgrown your carrier. Not only is is extremely heavy to lug both you AND it around, but your little feet are protruding off the end :) Maybe time to transition to a new carseat soon.

* You're wearing 9-12 month clothes; quite a few of them being your brothers 12 month things. Makes this mama's heart melt to see you in his outfits.

* This past Sunday, as I handed you over to the nursery worker, you looked at me and cried for the first time. Oh. . . be still my heart. Pitiful.

* You're quickly learning what 'no' means. Most of the time you'll turn away and crawl towards us awaiting our clapping praise.

* You say 'Da-da' all the time, but only say 'Ma-ma' when you're upset. That's okay. . . I like to know I'm needed :)

* Everything goes in your mouth. Thankful you take a paci - that keeps a few things out!

We love you sweet thing. 2011 will always be extra special. . . thanking the Lord for the beautiful gift of your life.
