This day was extra special this year. We awoke Saturday morning and attended our first ever Christmas Eve service. We've always wanted to attend in the past, but our family's tradition of getting together on the 24th never allowed for us to participate in the lovely evening services. Thanks to LH offering early morning and mid-afternoon services this year, we were finally able to celebrate the birth of our Savior collectively with our church family. Communion, candlelight, Christmas songs, and hearing the Nativity story afresh once again. . . it was a beautiful time of reflection indeed.
After the service, we came home and enjoyed a lazy afternoon together. I wasn't feeling too great (thank you sinuses), so a low-key day is just what I needed :) That evening, we headed to Kyle and Laura's home for our annual Christmas 'soup bar' dinner and to spend time with my family.

Before bed, we all opened our Christmas pajamas and put the finishing touches on Santa's cookies.
