Opryland Hotel is just gorgeous during the Christmas season. We love our annual Johnson/Gregory family visit and this year enjoyed the added bonus of an extra tour with dear friends, the Gibsons.
Shrektacular was one theme around the hotel. I must say we were disappointed that they discontinued the dancing waters (free) show and instead included a must-pay Shrek frenzy. I guess if people pay, $$ will win everytime. . .

Last year, we dreamed of watching BOTH boys enjoy the lights. Amazing to see it become a reality!
Due to busy schedules, work, and other obligations, the Johnson/Gregory trip happened after the New Year. Although the 'glamour' of an approaching holiday was over, we had just as much fun relaxing and strolling.
As a mama of two young boys, I actually liked visiting after the Christmas rush. The hotel was practically empty. . . Cole could run ahead and we could go at our own pace without being pushed from behind by a fast-walking couple :) The stroller was not a burden and we could pose for pictures as often as we pleased without waiting for a crowd to pass. Love. . .
