That's A Wrap

After a fun first season, Cade's spring t-ball has come to a close.  We loved our fellow Pirates and their families...it really was such a sweet team.  Thankful for great coaches and that Cade seems to have found a love for the game.  He's already asking when we can sign up for the fall :)  Cole also welcomed the break from ball and liked cheering on his little bro as well as hanging with his buddies during the games.  Fun weekdays and Saturdays at the ball field.  Now I feel that summer can truly begin!

Cole and his buddies - London and Bryson

 So proud of our #9!

At the last game on June 6, our team mom, Amanda, made the cutest awards for each player.  Coach Andrew presented each one with big smiles all around.  I think the kids were just happy to see some candy ;)

My STAR player

After the game, the team gathered at the park to enjoy some pizza, ice cream, and adorable pirate ship treats provided by the parents.  It's been a great year!

The following weekend, we attended the American Legion t-ball and baseball Awards Ceremony.  Each child is given a trophy, the coach a plaque, and All-Star players are announced.

So proud of you Perkins Pirates!  What a great bunch of ball players!

14 Years

Fourteen years together with this man.  Add on the 3.5 years we dated and we've been together exactly half of my life.  Weird, crazy, and oh so amazing.  So grateful that the Lord would give me the gifts of love, joy, dedication, servanthood, honesty, respect, humility, humor, and gentleness all wrapped up in one man.  Michael Johnson, you have made this journey so fun and memorable...we've had our share of joys and sorrows, yet you remain the constant man of God that I saw glimpses of those many years ago.  Watching the way you lead our family and love us well makes my heart swoon.  Love you my Mister :)

Celebrating early with tickets to the annual K-Love Awards show.  Grand Ole Opry, here we come!

Dinner across the way at Macaroni Grill

My dear friend, Audrey, and her dear friends all spotted each other and waited in the drizzly rain together.  Once inside we headed our own directions and ended up sitting one row apart - so crazy!
The show was good, but Michael and I both preferred the entertainment and flow of the year prior.  All in all, it was a nice evening out with good music and the surprise of sweet friends.  Doesn't get much better!

Anchored Awards Day

So hard to believe that another year of school has almost passed us by.  We're still a few weeks out from completing our required 180 days, but Cole's co-op, Anchored Enrichment, ended their year on May 9 with a fun Award's Day morning brunch.  Each class sang a song, and each teacher presented her students with an award specific to their personality in the classroom.  I loved how Mrs. Steen (Cole's teacher) also read an excerpt from their journals about what each child wanted to be when they grew up and things they liked to do.  Made it even more personal and special.  Cole received the Handwriting Hero award and we couldn't be more proud of this second grade boy!
