We stayed at the Residence Inn (highly recommend) which is right by the aquarium, Discovery Museum, baseball stadium, and IMAX theatre. We enjoyed the delish breakfast each morning, indoor pool, workout room (Cole's favorite) and the close proximity to all the action. Absolutely perfect.
We had no agenda for the weekend except the party on Saturday afternoon. We simply enjoyed each moment and realized on our way home that we spent absolutely ZERO dollars on entertainment. With the streams at the aquarium, walking bridge, hotel, playgrounds, and Coolidge Park, who needs anything else? The only $$ was for lodging, gas, and food. That's my kind of vacation!
Checking out the Aquarium streams on Thursday
Coming back to the hotel for Cade's nap, we surprised Cole with his new favorite movie - Alvin and the Chipmunks, Chipwrecked. He was SO excited - the three of us had a ball watching it together.
An evening stroll through the art district and across the walking bridge

Enjoying a Lupi's pizza on the outdoor terrace of our hotel. Such a lovely night.
Enjoying the Riverfront playground
Upon leaving the playground, we noticed a few kids sliding down the large, grassy riverfront hill on cardboard boxes. The parents motioned to us and explained that there were other boxes for the public to use. Come to find out, when the boats unload their cargo, they tear down the boxes, and leave them at the top of the hill for kids and adults to slide on. What unexpected FUN!!

Saturday, we checked out and headed to Michael's parents' home for some birthday fun. The farm theme was perfect and birthday boy Jayce was super cute.

| Birthday Boy! |
Cade, however, did NOT enjoy the day seeing as he fell on the concrete shortly after we arrived scraping his forehead, nose, and chin. Scorching hot day + no nap + hurt face = unhappy little boy. Thankful that Jayce shared his birthday present to appease a fussy baby!
