LHG Putt-Putt

It's been exactly a year since our family joined the Long Hollow Gallatin congregation to worship and serve.  It's been a journey learning the ins and outs of a satellite campus and the differences they hold apart from the 'normalcy' of the main campus that we knew for seven years.  Making new friends, building new relationships, finding new areas to serve that grow and stretch our faith...it's been a hard ride that we're still navigating yet really beginning to enjoy.
Being the newbies on campus, we have tried to attend all the large gatherings - movie nights, dinners, scavenger hunts, and on this occasion, the LHG Putt-Putt Challenge.  We know that we'll never feel connected unless we make the effort to truly get to know individuals and families outside of the 'big room' as Pastor Bill likes to say :)  So, we headed with a group of 50 other LHGers for a fun dinner at Cock of the Walk and then over to Grand Ole Golf for an evening of putt-putt.

We were paired with a sweet family and really had a great time!  The boys had a ball with their new friend, Lizzie, and we built yet another foundation for a Sunday morning 'Hello!' with a couple that went from strangers to familiar.  Thankful for this body of believers and excited to see what the Lord has for the Johnson crew as we continue to follow His leading...

Downtown Diddy

After a morning of strawberry picking and park playing, we decided to make it a complete family day by heading with Michael downtown to his evening appointment.  The boys and I hung out in the lobby of a hip condo high rise while Daddy appraised upstairs and then it was time for FUN.  We took the boys to a favorite local dinner spot, the Old Spaghetti Factory.  Being a weeknight, it was not crowded and we had our pick of a favorite table.  You can't pass up the trolley car - boys LOVED it!

After dinner, we opted for putt-putt golf near our home.  It's a favorite of the boys and Cade even made a hole-in-one!  Fun family day indeed :)

Life - In Pictures

Whew, summer is flying by!  We're trying to soak up every moment (indoors as of late) before we begin homeschooling in August and have enjoyed many Johnson adventures.  Here's a glimpse of life lately. . .

Celebrated 11 years of marriage (14 together) with this handsome guy on June 23.  Thanks to sweet friends, we enjoyed a kid free night out with no main agenda.  Dinner at Cabana, dessert at the Hermitage Hotel Capital Grill, strolling downtown, and Starbucks coffee were perfect ways to ring in our anniversary.  I love you Michael Johnson!

Exploring Dragon Park one Sunday evening

Little man loves to slide!

Found a new buddy - they could've been twins

The mist felt SO good!
Of course Cade fell as soon as we arrived and busted his upper lip.  Paci was the only thing that soothed :(

So glad Gigi could join us!
The perfect way to end a fun night :)

This boy totally has my heart.  Silly faces and all.

Have you ever seen a cuter face?  I mean seriously. . .

It's even too hot for clothes INSIDE the house these days
A few Make It Monday creations
1.  Sun silhouettes

Place objects on construction paper and leave in the sun for 1-2 hours.

The paper fades and voila!

 2.  Sidewalk paint

Cornstarch, water, and food coloring
Colors mixed. . . let's go!
So much FUN

Little man has finally found a love for books

My superhero!
