An Afternoon Project

Lately, the boys have been taking simultaneous afternoon naps - all the mamas shout woo-hoo! It's amazing what can get done during those 2 - 2.5 hours :) Last week, one of my afternoon projects was to organize all of Cole's clothes that he's outgrown by size and season. I went through them all, took out what I'd like to consign/donate (kept most things for Cade) and loaded them into labeled totes ready for stacking in the attic. Whew. . . it feels SO good to be organized!

* Notice that the size only goes to 2T. That's because my sweet 4 1/2 year old boy is still wearing a 3T. . . LOVE his petite self!

I also found a bookshelf in the attic that I'd forgotten we stored. I brought it downstairs and placed it in Cade's closet to house all the infant board books. Cole has LOVED looking at all the 'baby' books once again - it's like he's found a new treasure! :)

Community Movie Night

Through a link shared on FB, I learned of a community wide free movie night hosted by the local YMCA and Redeemer Church (which meets at the Y facility). We decided to check it out and met a few friends there as well. It turned out to be the perfect evening. . . overcast skies and a cool breeze provided much relief from the humid 80 degree nights. The movie, Despicable Me, was a hit (we really enjoyed it - Cade even watched the entire movie!) and the fun activities were an added bonus. You can bet we'll be back if they host again!

Balloon animals, face painting, corn hole, and free popcorn/water made the evening super fun!

The best part was sharing it with friends!

Rollin' Rollin' Rollin'

New milestone this week! Our sweet Cade rolled over from tummy to back all by himself on Friday and then from back to tummy on Sunday (which he did while Papa and Gigi were babysitting) What a BIG boy you're becoming!
* Hopefully video will come soon - trying to upload from iMovie with no success - frustrated!

For now, here are a few other precious pics. . .

You've Got Mail

No matter how old you get, there's just something special, almost magical, about receiving a package in the mail. This past week, two boxes arrived from our dear friends, Dawn and Alan that reside in Delaware. Both were addressed to our boys, but because they were delivered during naptime, they sat on the dining table for the better part of 2 hours. Do you know how hard it was for me not to take a peek?! It was as if I was receiving a gift :) Needless to say, I used my self-control and patience and waited for Cole to awake before ripping off the tape (Cade was still napping, but I couldn't stand it any longer!).

Yay! Packages for me!

What's inside??

Our first gift was a verse hand stitched by Dawn. I LOVE it and will be hanging it in Cade's room very soon!

Gift #2: House rules :)

Gift #3: A Bubble Storm for Cole. Such a fun toy that we later tried outside with Daddy.

Gift #4: Cade's turn! Look at all these precious clothes!

Dawn and Alan, you outdid yourselves. We treasure your thoughtfulness and goodness towards our family. We hope to see you soon!

Sweet Boys

I find it truly amazing that my boys already share such a strong bond. Cade strains to find his brother's voice and smiles whenever Cole is near. Cole absolutely adores his baby brother and loves to play, sing, and talk with him. So thankful for the joys of these two sweet boys!

Brothers :)

Cole's telling him all about it :)

The Many Faces of Cade

Oh, sweet boy how I love you. Your expressions are too many to count!

Our Weekend

This past weekend was nice and relaxing. . . just the way it should be!

Brothers playing together. . . LOVE them

Pure sweetness

Sunday afternoon at Papa and Gigi's house. . .

Papa and Cole broke out my brother's old race car track. Still works like a charm!

Enjoying Gigi's chocolate chip cookies :)
