When we arrived on Friday, we ate lunch and immediately headed outside. Cole fed the horses and then we all hopped on the 4-wheelers for a quick ride up the mountain. We stopped along the way at a shaded creek and let Cole play in the water. After our ride and a nap, we ventured to The Cookie Jar Cafe for dinner...such a cute place! It is an old farmhouse turned restaurant and serves all the country classics. Not only was the food good, but they have 2 playgrounds and a petting zoo on the property. While waiting to be seated, Cole enjoyed seeing the goats, calf, chickens, roosters, ducks, donkey, cows, pigs, and bull. He also enjoyed chasing the rabbits that ran free around the property. I had no idea all that was available for the kiddos...can't believe I didn't bring my camera!
Saturday, the sun was shining again, so we decided to spend the morning at Fall Creek Falls. The park is only 30 minutes from their home, so it was the perfect opportunity to let Cole see the waterfalls and enjoy the outdoors. Cole LOVED the falls and laughed at all the kids jumping into the water. Next time, we'll pack our swimsuits so that we can swim too :)
After more outdoor fun at Grandpa's, it was time to head home. We loved our 'getaway' and can't wait to visit again soon!
