Cole's favorite activity at the beach was simply sitting by the ocean and throwing shells into the waves as they washed over his feet. There was an abundance of shells so this became an everyday event. Since coming home, he loves to throw rocks, leaves, and sticks into any water he can find...large puddles are the favorite and have been easy to spot from all the afternoon rain.
Yesterday, I worked on a project with some shells that we brought home from the beach.

Later that night, I came into the den to find Cole sitting with the leftover shells and a huge bowl of water. Michael had set him up an indoor 'puddle'...Cole was thrilled! He spent the next HOUR before bedtime playing with his shells, some bowls, and the water. We've definitely found the perfect 'rainy day' activity!
"He shoots, he scores!" (a favorite quote that Cole has learned while watching the NBA tournament with Daddy :))
Michael is such a creative Daddy. He's always building tents, forts, or just coming up with fun things to spend time with Cole. Whether it's building a city out of big blocks or hanging bungee cords from the fan and watching them spin (yep...he actually did that...Cole laughed and laughed!), I'm so thankful for the way he loves his son and shows him daily that he is a gift from God. We are blessed!
