Michael and I have been waiting for something fun to come to town that Cole would enjoy. When we heard that Thomas Live was coming to the Sommet Center, we immediately bought tickets for this fun event.
Well, today was the big day! We told Cole we were going somewhere special this morning and he couldn't wait. When we told him we were going to see Thomas the Train, he was excited, but thought we were going to play with the Thomas train set at Barnes & Noble...ha!! I explained that we were going to see a 'big' Thomas (and his friends) and watch them sing and dance.
We arrived at the Center around 9:45 for our 10:30 show. We found our seats and were so pleased with where we were located. Cole enjoyed listening to the music and touring the venue with Daddy while we waited for the show to begin (he was a very patient boy!). When the lights went down and we heard Thomas' whistle, he just smiled :)
He really enjoyed the first half of the show...he clapped to the music, marched with the characters, and loved when Thomas and his friends made their appearance. BUT, halfway through, he began to cry and say, "time to go Mommy". Something in the show had scared him. The loud noise, a certain song, a certain look...who knows? I personally believe it was the noise. He has never been fond of loud noises (he's just now gotten to where he is ok with the singing of 'Happy Birthday' in restaurants. Can you believe it?). We continued to watch/listen to the show from a distance, and left right before the ending.
Although we were somewhat bummed that he didn't enjoy the whole show, we enjoyed all that we saw and will definitely try this again (maybe next year :)).
After the show, we ate at a new joint (to us) called Which Wich. A super cute sandwich shop on West End. We enjoyed our lunch and then walked around Centennial Park, feeding the ducks and exploring the Parthenon before the rain began.

We enjoyed our day together and are so blessed that we can spend these precious moments together as a family.

WHAT A FUN DAY! I'm so envious! I can't wait to do things like that with Jonah!! . . . It was great seeing you at the wedding last night! We should hang out sometime soon. :)
Sounds like such a fun day!! What a great idea since he LOVES trains so much. I bet he was so surprised when you guys went on passed B & N:) Glad you caught the whole show...even from the back.
